To try and remember last year's resolution.

  Hypnotism at Work

Yes, you're getting sleepy, very sleepy............

  Pre-Xmas Shopping
I know this post is days late but better late than never, right? My mom called me on Christmas's eve and asked if I wanted to go shopping. I said okay. I should have known better. She went looking for a pendant for herself and I ended up buying a pair of earrings for myself (boy I have the will power of a traitor).

You see, I just got my ears pierced a month back and ever since I am drawn to earrings like a moth to a flame. This pair is reasonable. It's $98 and of course my mom had to buy a pair for herself too.

Urmmmm.....3 plastic cards from 3 different places. Yup. I got the ear rings from Citigems which is a subsidiary of Lee Hwa Jewellery. In Northpoint shopping centres these 2 shops are situated side by side. If you get scared off the prices from Lee Hwa (what with the purple gold and others), just scurry off to Citigems.

  Good Riddance
You had served me well this past year. But life had its own demands and soon we will be parted as I found a better partner and cheaper too. I'll try not to think of you too much (and I know I won't). I'll keep you safe in a spectacle box and on my shelf.

Vale mon ami. Vale.

  A Blogger Unmasked
Hahaha. Yes! That's me on the left with the red-rimmed glassed and my mom on the right. I actually look human. Hehe. I am not into taking photos of myself for reasons that I look more humanoid than human. I have this tendency to come out looking weird in photos. But I thought that this photo looks nice.

Merry Christmas at an Uncle's place.
Nephew and his grand god-mother. My nephew adores her and vice-versa.
The Christmas cake. Not in the picture was my nephew holding on to a plastic knife preparing to cut the cake.
My brother enjoying his favourite hobby. Eating. It was a sumptious spread of laksa, nasi lemak and DIY popiah.
My nephew wondering when we'll eat the cake.

Overall, it was an enjoyable Xmas party at my uncle's. I took plenty of pics but chose not to post them all due to certain reasons. Anyway, I'll post more of them...if I feel like it.

Till then.

Journey To A Hair Cut - Revisited
Hahaha, after yesterday's fiasco with my lim hair, this looks so much better. Right? Right? You can see I have a little "lump" now on top of my head.
Thought to show you people out there how I look when I was twelve years old. And the Tianpo Jewellery card, I heard you ask? I am using it to cover my personal info. And also to let you know I spent a certain amount of $$$ at one sitting to get this.

And if you are still laughing at my ID photo, I will shoot lasers from my eyes, you can see from the above photo that I am prepping up now to shoot lasers. Note the white areas on my face?

Anyway, back to my visit with the hair stylist, when I was there the receptionist kept telling me that the stylist about to cut and dye my hair is known to cut hair for the stars (more like star fruit). Then she proceeded to rattle off names as if I give a hoot, could not for the life of me now remembered what star he cut for.

Anyway, he's extremely chatty guy. I was flipping through my magazine, and he kept on talking non-stop and I was hoping my non-verbal cues like ignoring him and looking at this hot bod in the mag didn't stop him.

I just nodded my head pretending that I care.

Then I noticed a trend, I had 30 Andys, 20 Candys, 10 Johns, 5 Elaines, 10 Davids that had cut my hair before. I had a Jennifer, a Jenny and a Baby (that is about 50 years old) that cut my hair before. I had a Ratio and a Salonpas (at least that's what I heard anyway whenever I booked the appointment and I said I want Salonpas I always get him). I had a Tamaki even a Kawaii that had touched my head before. Even had a Takuya.

Hmmmm....what's with hair stylists and their names???

  Journey To A Hair Cut
So I decided to go for a hair cut, I walked in unexpectingly to this JY hair salon, the peeps at the reception looked at me as if I was some sort of scientific experiment for them to experiment on. This should set my antennas up, the first thing they said was that my hair was dry ( i was thinking yes of course it's dry, I didn't wash my hair what, bodoh). Then they commented that my black hair was becoming very obvious (of course what, you think I ang mo, issit? Sepak his kepala 10 times than he know).

Then he asked the shampoo girl to wash my hair (you think I have lice, issit? (Sepak his bola than he know).

Anyway the shampoo girl had loooong fingernails because she keep digging it into my scalp, I was waiting for my blood to flow). Then she kept pouring dunno what unto my head. Then keep asking my rhetorical questions like, "Pain or not?"

After that, the hair stylist asked me to choose the hair colour I want, for every colour I chose, he shook his head (then you asked me to choose, sepak his bola 10 more times than he know).

Finally, I asked him to "recommend". He "recommended" than say I will look more fresh (why you think I stale like bread issit? Sepak his kepala 20 more times and bola 10 more times than he know what fresh is).

Then he said I needed ampoule on my head, then I was thinking why he wanna put a bottle on top of my head, then he broke the ampoule and pour the contents on my head. Say you wanna put serum or solution on my head lah. Ampoule, ampoule. You think gun ah? Orang gila.

Then he took scissors and cut my hair, a bit here, a bit there. He say he cut then my hair will bob, thin here and there. Aiyah, cut cut lah, bob bob bob. Bob Hope is it? Or Bobbi Brown? Tsk. Then keep saying I will look fresh. Speak bola and kepala 30 times, then I will buy kelapa and give it to him.

Anyway, the end product is the picture on top. . Ya lor, very thin at the sides. Dunno how fresh but I never wash my hair after he cut that's why the hair stick to my sides.

  Engrrish Lesson Very Good 1
In case, you can't read the Engrrish words, it says "Brute Force Cupula Pot Hook". Can't see how brute and how forceful it was and I had no "cupula" to use for my pot hook"

  Picasso Watch Out
Picasso-wannabe took a look at my hand and drew it cubist-style a la Picasso. (NB: He still young lah, never buy easel for him, so use his white board, ok?)
How my hand really looks like.

The Art of Starting Them Young
Future boss of some mega-super mart.
Before becoming a future boss of some mega-mart. They have to start from the bottom.
When you become a boss, you must learn one simple rule, there are always bills, bills, bills! Look at the intense concentration.

The Art of Eating Pre-Packaged Birds' Nest
Firstly, wait for the Birds' Nest to be warmed up and harassed everyone around you as to when the Birds' Nest will be ready while sitting impatiently on the chair.
Secondly, keep checking every nano second if the bottle is warm enough.
Thirdly, after the birds' nest is warmed up, you pour it into a porcelain bowl and gobble it up.
Fourthly, if you are unable to scoop up the remnants, you pour it into your mouth.
Finally, after eating the birds' nest you wash it down with some warm water.

  Food
It was a lazy Sunday morning sometime last last week. Just came back breakfast. Bought some kueh from Cold Storage, was still testing my camera and asked me mom to put her hand on the ondeh ondeh. Not really delicious, the food I mean.

  Future Car Designer and Me
Hehe. Me hiding behind my comforter again.

Future car designer in the making. Now he's figuring out how the Little Tikes Car is working. In the future, he will be designing Aston Martins, Ferraris, Lotuses etc.

  Lunch Time
A booth at Novena Square was set up by Chummeez (sp?) restaurant. I got fried rice, sweet and sour pork and a ginger drink for SGD$4.50. Rather reasonable considering the price of mediorce food that you buy at the food court.

  A Happy Sunday's Outing
My cousins in blue and white and my grandmother (the one on white hair) and me with half of my face blacked out. While having my face blacked out, I noticed that my face looked really oily. Yucks!
We were having a very early dinner at Suntec's Nest Delights. The food is quite good, can't say the same about the service. But what can I say, as the pricing is reasonable, so I can't expect 5 star service.

Having a serious discussion.

I really splurged this coupla of dayz. Guess, it's the end of the year, I was not as tight-fisted as early in the ear. I made a boo-boo, I dirtied my aunt's white T-shirt while happily trying out the make-up. I squeezed the bottle a tad too hard and it went to her T-shirt.

As I was saying about food and stuff...
My father is making almond paste, one of the favourite dessets in the family and really easy to make. You need almonds, almond powder and syrup. Blend them all in a good blender adding water to determine its consistency. Stirring it constantly and voila see below for finished product.

It has a smooth consistency, just the way I like it. I asked my father to make this more watery. He is able to make it gruel-like but I prefer mine watery.

The finished product.

My lunch of fruits and agar-agar.

So the computer went blink blink.......
The computer system went down a coupla days ago. While waiting for the "super" efficient IT people to fix this problem. I took a pic of myself and went to buy my lunch as photographed below.

This consists of bee hoon aka mifen, egg with ham, fish ball, half a sausage and a chicken nugget. This is a set that set me back SGD$3.95 and comes together with green bean soup and barley water.

Very oily and felt my arteries were clogging up with every mouthful. I wanted to see what was sooner me having a heart attack or the minor computer glitch to be fixed.

After eating and waiting for the minor glitch to be fixed, I took a photo of my foot. Noticed my newly painted toe nails?

This blog shall be a happy one, full of mundane stuff. As HH Dalai Lama always said, every being wants happiness and kindness. Yes...Now it's the time for the Dayz of My Life.
